Book illustrations

Ten weeks self formulated school project at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation School, May, 2011.

A serie of large illustrations/paintings inspired by the short story; Noerreport by the Danish writer Katrine Marie Guldager, from the short story collection Copenhagen, 2004, Gyldendal.

Noerreport depicts a day at the most busy metrostation in Denmark. The reader meets different kinds of people during the short story. They criss crosses but none take responsability for each other. Noerreport describes the modern human beeings’ growing individuality.
Technically this was a personal experience for me to do large illustrations (70 cm x 100 cm) on the spot. I could not edit my paintings. My assignment was to do these illustrations analogously.
I've used Ecoline colours, a liquid colour with a lot of pigment and oil pastels during the wet painting process to indicate some lines and shapes in the painting.
This serie is created to a public place, for instance a library.
